June – Dollar

This is the fourth song for our one song a month release called “Dollar”. This song is 4 of 4 that we recorded with CrashFour’s old drummer Harley Wright. Thanks to Ryan Peck, Harley and I spent one weekend at the Boise Rock School and tracked all the drums for these four songs. A few months later Rebecca Martin and I spent a lovely day recording Rob Hill on bass guitar at Rebecca Scott’s house.

Another dollar and another dime
And another war that we just can’t fight
This time we all promise to do our best
Then again and again we second guess
I guess

Another collar and another crime
Another CEO who is falling just fine
This time we all promise to invest
Then again and again we second guess

Like a child playing with fire
In a dry open field
Before the house burns down
What do you take out of here?

Another day and another night
And another job that we just can’t find
This time we all promise to impress
Then again and again we second guess

Like a child playing with fire
In a dry open field
Before the house burns down
What do you take out of here?

Come in come out come on over the smoke has cleared
Cleared from the morning sunlight shines down in front of us as we fight for more control

Another dollar and another dime
Another life and another lifetime
We tried and tried to find our best
Then again and again we second guess

Like a child playing with fire
In a dry open field
Before the house burns down
What do you take out of here?

Come in come out come on over the smoke has cleared
Cleared from the morning sunlight shines down in front of us as we fight for more control
